S T A T E M E N T
My practice is rooted in a metaphysical concern: Everything is act and potency. Perception reveals to us a deeper order within the effects of this process—Logos—the sacramental nature of reality and creation. Through images, or fragments of time, we hold onto lived experience, exploring perception, memory, and fragility, in an attempt to disclose the mystery of being. Through creation, the potency of an actuality can reveal it's hidden pattern, pointing to the ultimate, both beginning and end.
By a process of gathering, carving, and ordering, my work brings together memory, fantasy, obsession, and the stream of images from contemporary life toward a moment, or a hope, of destabilization, where true significance can break through the surface.
